This Girl Can! is a mentoring program for 6th and 7th grade at-risk girls. The program observes 10 core values and has an intensive focus to improve academic achievement and decrease behavioral offenses by empowering girls through personal mechanics and literary engagement. This Girl Can! is an intimate community serving over 20 girls led by Author and Entrepreneur, Lanisha Porter under the auspice of Porter Print & Publishing, Inc.

The pervasive bias that tends to exist against at-risk youth in the public school system puts a damper not only on the individual potential of students, but also the enthusiasm that should be aroused when coming to school to learn.
