I saved $1,300 in 3 months from scrap change. Here's how...
Hey, Yallllll,
Wanna hear a joke?

MILLENNIALS. *inserts outburst of laughter*
Seriously though, ever feel like no matter how hard you work to get ahead that you just cant keep pace? To feel this way is the life of the millennial. It can even be more frustrating when you consider some people went to college to get ahead, only to graduate and realize the heavy burden of debt would allow them to do anything but advance financially. It is rare for even the most common of us to survive on one stream of income alone. In this world with the minimum wage. most of us have to carry two or three gigs to just survive; nevermind thriving.
Needless to say how sad, hopeless, drained, and stuck that can make one feel. Such a reality really bolds why saving and careful management of your money is so essential. In 2017, I graduated college with degree in hand but my bank account wiped smooth clean. I maybe had $125 to my name. With that $125 I needed to travel from New York to Kentucky, buy a car, find an apartment, and survive until I began my new job in a month.
Dammit, looking back I don't know how I managed but God brought me through! Those 28 days between college graduation and starting my new job were TOUGH! But I am glad for it though. It would become a final reminder that I'd never be down to my last $100 again. I would never again have to make a bag of cheetos stretch two days because it was my only food. Never again.
Once my money started rolling in and I firmly planted my feet, I made saving a priority! And here are the apps that I used to help me save without even intending to!

Once my money started rolling in and I firmly planted my feet, I made saving a priority! And here are the apps that I used to help me save without even intending to!
- STASH-- How it works: regularly stashes away set amount per week. I stash $5 weekly.
- DIGIT-- How it works: automates random saving amounts. I have $2000 in this collection
- ACORNS-- How it works: does round-ups. Example: If you spend $3.51 at McDonalds, acorns will round-up to the nearest dollar and invest that $.49 savings in your account.
For me to transfer $400 from my checkings to my savings WILLINGLY would be a true task for me. I honestly couldn't do it on my own. Simply because I'd be tempted to spend it. That's why automated saving systems are your friend. They do the hard work for you without you seeing it or even noticing it. I highly recommend downloading these apps.
Lastly, I will say this. If I saved $1,300 just from scrap change--$.62, $3, $4, or $12 dollars being deducted from my account at random over the course of 3 months, imagine what YOU could save with intentional savings (remember the 50/30/20 rule from the money management guide) and automated savings!
Happy Savings!
Execute Well,
