Why I Stopped Giving My Girl Friends Relationship Advice

One thing I know for sure is that women are strong. Often times our strength extending pass what most can imagine. We go through and we get through to live and pass down our wisdom to younger women who will someday go through. But what I've learned from pain is that it often allows us to assume the exact form we were meant to take, while beholding the very knowledge we need to live forward with.

That said, I no longer try to be the protective shield between my girlfriends and their relationships. I think with each disappointment and heartbreak women come into their higher selves and realize how strong they are on their own. They learn the lessons in such a deep way that couldn't be received by simple advisory warnings said over girl chat and margaritas. As long as she's not being abused, I reserve the right to remain silent about my opinions on her affairs. Though the answers may be obvious to me, in the spirit of womanhood, I trust that that woman will figure it out  herself and have glorious wombs to show for it. When a woman is sick and tired no one needs to tell her to walk away...she just will. Her strength will be realized and activated. Often times it is our pain that is the very marker for our most profound growth, and I've learned to stop standing in the way of that type of growth for my sister friends. I will always be a listening ear, and comforting shoulder but I think I'm retiring from being a dispensary of advice.
